Mardi Gras: Made in China, film screening and discussion Wednesday, April 18, 6:30-8:30 C4C N320 Hosted by the Center for Multicultural Affairs

This documentary follows the life-cycle of Mardi Gras beads from a small factory in Fuzhou, China, to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and to art galleries in New York City; explores how toxic products directly affect the people who both make and consume them.

Get hired as a Peer Career Advisor!
Career Services is hiring Peer Career Advisors (PCAs) to start August, 2012.  The goal of the PCA position is to increase the visibility of Career Services.  The PCAs will perform various outreach activities, including classroom presentations, resume critiques and walk-ins, assist with various career events, and other creative means to reach out to students.  The Peer Career Advisor program is a unique leadership opportunity for students interested in helping others while also working on their own career development.  This position entails eight hours a week at $9.75 an hour.  A few days of training will take place the week of August 20, in accordance with schedules.  Please send your resume and cover letter to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Hannah Levin, HR Manager of Solid Fire (a local Boulder technology company) will talk to students about interviewing strategies, including common interviewing mistakes and helpful techniques. She will provide good and bad interview responses to common interviewing questions.  If time allows, Hannah will conduct mock interviews so students can practice! Theatre, Music and Culture in Edinburgh Summer Program!

Students can earn three credits in three weeks this summer while experiencing theworld's largest arts festival, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In addition to staying in Scotland's beautiful capital, students take a five day tour of the Highlands and a day trip to Glasgow. This Global Seminar study abroad program led by Drs. Penelope Cole and Daniel Jones includes visits to the Edinburgh Castle, Scottish Parliament, and more. Students must have a 3.0 GPA.

Cross Campus Entrepreneurship Education Entrepreneurship courses for CU students in non-business majors. Entrepreneurship is a “state of mind… an artful, insightful and innovative mentality.”It is about looking at the world in new ways and followinga vision to address real problems with creative solutions. While rooted in business fundamentals, entrepreneurship education isn’t just for business majors anymore. An entrepreneurial skill set offers a solid foundation for students across disciplines to thrive in any post-collegiate career.
• Gain entrepreneurial skills and experience to help you succeed in future careers, whether working in a startup, launching a new venture, or seeking a position in an established firm. This knowledge applies to both for-profit and non-profit ventures.

Prof. Steve Chan honored at 2011 Professors of Distinction Lectures/Reception, Nov. 16 - students welcome!

Professor Steve Chan (Political Science and director of the Farrand Residential Academic Program) will be honored at the 2011 Professors of Distinction Lectures and Reception from 6 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16.  The event is free and open to the public.  International Affairs students who have enjoyed Prof. Chan's classes are welcome!

The two brief talks will take place in the Old Main Chapel.  Professor Chris Greene of physics, who is also a fellow of JILA, will speak from 6 – 6:30 p.m. on “Diving in the World of Atoms for Understanding and Control.”

Professor Steve Chan of political science and director of the Farrand Residential Academic Program will speak from 6:30 – 7 p.m. on “Money Talks: Sino-American Debt Ties as Credible Commitment.”
