International Media Certificate

imc_logo-smSave the date for the spring IMC event! This dinner event will be held on Wednesday, March 31st at 6:45PM, in Armory 218. The featured speakers will be the International Affairs Program director and Economics faculty, Robert McNown, and Political Science faculty, Lauri McNown, giving a presentation on his experiences in Tiananmen Square during the student-led democracy protests of 1989.

IMC students, stay tuned for news about our new multimedia production class in the fall -- this will be a hands-on Journalism special topics class and it will be open to IAFS majors in the IMC!

The International Media Certificate is available to students majoring in International Affairs or enrolled in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. This certificate provides students with an understanding of international news gathering and dissemination, and can lead to a career in international journalism. The IMC brochure can be downloaded here.


Applying to the IMC

For the downloadable application form, please visit the International Media Certificate website. This site includes a list of IMC course requirements for IAFS students and a list of ongoing deadlines for application. Deadlines are October 19 for spring admission and March 15 for fall admission. (If the date falls on a weekend or holiday, the application deadline will be the next business day.) The application form is available under the "How to Apply" section -- a minimum 2.75 overall GPA, 30 hours of college credits and 6 credits in the major are required.

Certificate check-out for continuing IMC students

IAFS majors who are graduating and completing the IMC should make a certificate check-out appointment with the International Affairs director, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . Please bring an unofficial copy of your transcript and the completed IMC worksheet to your appointment.
